Great beer and a fun tour Aug 25, 2011
Part pub, part restaurant, part brewery , a visit to the Redhook Ale brewery makes for a fun side trip from Seattle. You can tour the brewery for $1 (really, just a dollar) and you'll get to taste at least five different beers and take home a souvenir tasting glass. I've been a few times, and they don't always let visitors inside the brewery, so it may just be a beer tasting, but it's well worth the dollar. And the guides try to make the tours humorous, and having the beer in you helps to make the experience fun ;)

The restaurant has typical bar food of pretty decent quality, and there are vegetarian options available. The highlight of visiting the restaurant is the beer (of course). The beers available rotate based on season. I recommend getting the sampler, even if you just came back from the tour.

Redhook has live music on Friday and Saturday nights and trivia night on Tuesdays. Minors are allowed in the bar/restaurant and on the tours, just not on Friday and Saturdays after 9 p.m. It's a little out of the way from Seattle, but well worth it!
