This was my first time in Brazil!!

It was here that we first discovered the juice bars of Brazil – choose from pineapple, custard apple, guarana, acai, guava, mango, etc.  We also loved Recife’s grimy old church facades and dark pedestrian squares – the city has a refreshing realism. Olinda, its sister city, is its opposite – scrubbed clean, filled with funky upscale art galleries and brightly colored houses.  The town was gearing up for Carnaval.
