Ream National Park - River, Mangroves, Beach, and Birds! Jul 20, 2011
The Ream National Park is a nice spot to visit if you are on the South coast of Cambodia. You can access it from either of the main areas of the South (Sihanoukville or Kampot). It's not exactly the kind of place you can just show up and tramp around in, and most likely you will come here on a mangrove boat trip with a park ranger. Nevertheless, it's a very nice spot where you can see lots of birdlife along the river, which ultimately spills out onto the ocean. There are some good trails through the jungle and small villages to reach seemingly deserted white sand beaches (except for the new Chinese built resort that sullies the area, but at least it's built away from the beach so you will barely even notice it). If you are in the South of Cambodia, do not miss this nature oasis.
