Monterrey, Mexico -› Real de Catorce, Mexico -› ...
If you're looking for a quiet, yet spectacular town away from hordes of tourists, Real de Catorce is the place. It feels like a setting from a movie (in fact, a few movies were filmed here, including "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts). The nightlife is practically non-existant, with only one bar staying open to midnight. (Tip: Buy some cheap bottles of liquor and head to the end of Zaragosa Street, near the Cemetery Church, where you can build a bonfire and drink the night away!)...

So I am about to graduate from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, USA this fall and I decided that I needed to study abroad before I (possibly) enter the real world of... Adults! I am Mexican-American by heritage so of course Mexico was the obvious choice. On of my favorite Professors organized a group study at Monterrey Tec, Monterrey, MX (ITESM) and suggested I attend. Well now I'm here and after 5 weeks of study I am off to explore on my own for five more. How does it go...? LICK, SHOOT, SUCK!

The planned 2-3 days in the colonial gems of Mexico turned out to be a two-week long journey. Zacatecas, Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende listed by all Mexico travel guides as the best preserved historical cities in the whole Mexico have beaten all of my expectations.
My initial tendency to be extremely “polite” with the ancient towns have changed into an amazing experience of interacting with the contemporary daily life of ever young and vibrant cities. In Z...
