Rawnsley Park Cabin Sep 26, 2009
We enjoyed our stay in one of the cabins at the Rawnsley Park campground. It was $82 twin share per night. The kitchen facilities were excellent with a proper gas stove top, microwave oven, electric fry pan and all the utensils you need. In addition to the double bed there were two bunk beds so you can sleep six people (i.e two adults + four kids).

There are some excellent and well marked walking trails within the station, and good trail guides provided at the reception free of charge.

Disadvantages-The toilet blocks are a short walk from the cabin (but not too far). The station itself is twenty kilometres from the Wilpena campground so you do need to travel some distance to see inside the pound. The food at the Woolshed restaurant is a bit simplistic and overpriced. If you're a vegetarian like myself the mains options are severely limited to a very bland tart overloaded with onions.
