Rauma Vacation Guide

Rauma is a city on the west coast of Finland that is known for its wooden architecture. The city center of Rauma is a Unesco world heritage site. Rauma is known for its high-quality lace and holds an annual lace week where craftspeople exhibit their wares.

Although the manufacture of lace is a large part of the culture, Rauma is primarily an industrial city. The main industries are shipbuilding, metal, pulp, and paper. In addition, as the fifth largest port in Finland, Rauma is responsible for more than six million tons of shipping annually.

Rauma is also unique in that they speak their own dialect of Finnish, known as Rauman giƤl.
