Rastila Camping Helsinki is situated in Vuosaari in eastern Helsinki, on the seashore. Though it is a fair distance away from the city centre, one can take a direct metro (18-minute ride) connection to the city centre from Rastila metro station located only 5-minute walk from the site.

The site offers wide range of accommodation options including hostel, variety of cottages, caravan places and tent areas.

Service buildings with toilets, showers, kitchens/cooking shelters, washing machines and dryers are provided for some smaller cottages, caravans and tent campers.

The site offers a selection of saunas for hire. There are two small family saunas and three larger seaside sauna. The bigger saunas can be used as a venue for meetings or evening with friends and provide living/meeting room, terrace and a barbecue, kitchen and shower. Family saunas offer small lounge, terrace and a shower. For those, a gas grill can also be rented.

Additionally, Rastila Camping Helsinki gives you an opportunity to rent some summer and winter equipment including bikes and kickbikes, tour skates, snow shoes and kick-sled.

Recreational area comprises of some barbecue places, for which firewood can be purchased directly from the reception, and children playgrounds.

The site entrance is once again gated which allows only the campers to enter the area. The reception desk is located at the gate, where one can also find a TV room accessible during reception working hours.

The area is of a good size but much more compact than the last few places which means less privacy as everyone is closer together. That does not allow for as much parking. Luckily, a lot of tent campers arrived without a car so we found a spot quite easily next to out tent.

A cool addition to the organisation of the site are signposts directing you where you need to go.

Many service buildings are scattered around allowing easy access to the facilities.

There are only outdoor kitchens with dining areas. Though they are under a roof, it seems a little out of place for a country which with cold or cool weather for the best part of the year. The equipment here is rather basic – sinks with running water and hot places for cooking. No access to any fridges which is somewhat disappointing.

Showers and toilets are pretty standard for such an establishment.

A good-sized laundry room with drying and ironing facilities can also be found in one of the service buildings.

We did not plan to stay at this location in the first place, but when we arrived at our chosen camp-ground, we were turned away as they were just closing the reception. They re-directed us to this site.

In the end, we were quite content with the place due to its very convenient location right next to a metro station with trains running late at night.

The price we have paid for one night here - €14 for a tent spot and €6 for each adult. Maybe a tat overpriced considering only outdoor cooking and dining option.
