Prescriptive Misadventure & Bad Weather At LAX I think I was the very last person to check in at the Air New Zealand Desk. The second to last person was Andrew from the Isle of Man. Clearly we're kindred spirits in our tardiness, & from then on we became good friends and spent th…

I've had a great time in the Cook Islands. After nearly missing the flight in LA and being a bit indifferent to it at the time, I'm really glad I made it. I've been staying on the main Island of Rarotonga which is around 8 miles across. It is a island with a mountainous interior covered in rainfore…

We returned from our nice warm (well...... more very hot and humid really) holiday in Rarotonga.
We can thoroughly recommend the Cook Islands as a great place for a real lazy holiday. There is not a great deal to do there except make your own fun and laze and swim etc.

The Edgewater hotel offered a dinner dance show. The show is put on twice per week and the restaurant was packed. Probably due to the lack of nightlife in Rarotonga. It was pretty much what you would expect - an emcee that tells bad jokes, girls in coconut bras and over-amplified…

After checking out, I was left with the straight forward task of catching a bus to the airport. (A word about the bus service on Rarotonga: there are two buses, one that travels clockwise, whilst the other runs anti-clockwise, they both pick-up and drop-off at the same places, with the route taking…

The place to see!? Been the, seen that - got the stamp!?
Got up at 6.30 am, pickup at 7 and then on to the airport. Small plane, 40 min later in Aitutaki:O)
Whole day on a boat in the lagune, grilled tuna and lots of good food. Funny guide
But after spending NZ$ 400 I must say that if you a…

After studying so hard in Auckland we decided we need some vacation - some real vacation - so we went to Rarotonga the main island of the Cook Island. Although the weather was not the best - we met heaps of nice people and learned what it means to live on a tropical island: always wear flowers in your hair and drive around the island with your best friend- your scooter ;)

This trip was totally out of the blue, whilst on my Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, I needed to get away from windy Wellington so I chose this strange combination.
I was spoilt with beautiful deserted Motu in the South Pacific and amazed at the Japanese culture, its a Country like no other I've ever witnessed, a place I fell in love with and hope to return very soon.

This morning we had a bit of a lie in as we were all feeling very rough but had to be up in quite good time as check out was at 11am. We could leave our bags and use the facilities but had to vacate the room. I turned the room upside down before we left as I lost my ring that Amanda gave me. I have…

After another seemingly endless flight I arrived on Rarotonga airport, without a doubt the smallest airport I have ever seen. After the stairs where placed, I was able to leave the airplane and enter Paradise, after stepping out of the airplane and taking a second to deal with the extreme change in …
