I stayed at the beachside about a year ago now and I really loved it.
As the description says its right on the beach, the room I stayed in with four others was basic but had a good bed and only cost a few NZ dollars a night. More expensive options are also available like private rooms.

Do not stay here!! Robberies and home invasions occur here regularly.Owners do not care less.We were robbed of all our money and passports and credit cards while we slept. Police advised constant problems at these premises.
