Rapid Richie's Beach Cabin Masset Reviews
Really rustic cabin Jun 14, 2008
I was quite disappointed with our rustic cabin. Maybe it was because I don't really know the definition of rustic but even then. It wasn't that there was no electricity or running water because I expected not to have both of those things. Mostly it was the condition of the cabin. It was obviously very old, run down, and hadn't really been kept well. That said, it was still nice to stay right by the beach. There were hardly any other visitors then and we often found ourselves alone on the beach.
The cabin itself did not have a bed, only a futon and an old mattress in the loft. The futon was extremely hard and everything in the cabin was dusty. The outhouse was fine. The 'running water' in the cabin is only really used for doing dishes and washing because it comes from a rainwater collection tank. Drinking water from the town is provided. There was also plenty of firewood in the shed out back. It only needed to be chopped.
This may have been a nice place back in the 70's but now it really needs some help! It didn't help that after the fact, we heard that there were cabins nearby for only 10 dollars more that had recently been renovated with new furniture etc.
