Rapala Railay beach thailand Mar 29, 2012
This is probably the cheapest place in Railay. They have huts from 300-500 baht. The only available room was the $400 baht. Its not bad, has a hammock on the porch with nice views of the rocks.Depending on your hut, you have a nice view of the rock climbers.

My actual bungalow was en suite, which was nice with a fan. since the location is high, you have some respite from the heat. The $300 baht ones are shared. The bed was a mattress on the floor, it was supposed to have a bug net but mine was not around. The shower was cold, but that is normal.

There is a restaurant that is also part of the rapala place. I would only eat there is you were very hungry, food was not the best. i would rather eat at the floating boat eateries off the beach. They had a couple places to hang out and relax, so its nice if you are part of a big group.

The location was at the far end of the Railay area, about a 15 minute walk from the beach.

Overall, not a bad place to stay. The room was roomy and a hammock is always a plus.

This is an excellent backpacker spot May 27, 2011
Rapala is located at the top of a long flight of stairs on the east side of the island.

After quite a walk around and a few missed heartbeats by the price of other accommodation i was directed here by a local.

As i said before it is a bit of a trek getting up the flight of stair. Its basic bungalow accommodation a mattress and a hammock out the front but was one of my favorite spots in Thailand.

Its located next to some cool bars and restaurants. The staff were really friendly and helpful, also i met some great people here

would highly recommend for backpackers!!

I would recommend to wear earplugs the cockerel's/rooster's wake up very early
