Rapa Nui coast line Nov 06, 2013
Coast line of the Rapa Nui island is surreally beautiful and picturesque. Most of the west part of the island is surrounded with the large basalt wall spotted with caves or exits of the lava tubes that spilled melted rocks in the sea. South has easier slope with rocky bays and some access to the sea. East harbors only two sand beaches and it is generally much easier to access the sea from this part of the island. Aside of the hard lava rocks there are also soft sandy blobs that flowed in the lava and stopped right before plunging into the water. They are mostly covered with harder lava, but you can find some that have insides poached by weather.
