Ranua Wildlife Park Reviews

Ranua Zoo's idea is to show (quoting official website:) "Nordic and Arctic animals in their most natural environment possible around the year." Zoo has animals like reindeers, mooses, bears, polar bears, foxes, boars, owls and other birds, domestic animals and many others. Zoo is also home of famous Finnish lynxes Isa and Bella.
I have been there few times, every time in summer. Zoo is pretty big so there's lots of walking. I have to say that one of the best sides of the park is that there is "walking road". Visitors have to walk along this road and every animal is by the road. Usually in zoos there is many roads and you may miss some of the animals because of that. Biggest plus of the park is that animals have really good living areas. Their cages are big and "nature-like". Animals are not put into too small cages where they can't run around and play. Prices are cheap. Adult ticket is 12,5 euros, child (4-14 years) and student 9,5 euros, elder 10,5 euros and children under 4 years can go free. Also there is family ticket. P.S. I will upload photos later. Part of the Ranua Zoo travel blog |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Zoo with animals familair to this region Jun 20, 2003
This zoo is setup in a way it has only animals that still live in the wild in this region (or have lived in the wild in this region). This limits the variety of animals in the zoo but to me that is a plus.
