Rankin Inlet is located on the west coast of Hudson Bay and is most famous for being the home of NHL hockey player Jordan Tootoo who plays for the Nashville Predators.

Rankin hosts a population of +2000 people and is accessible via jet service from Yellowknife, Iqaluit or Winnipeg. This community is one of the only two places in Nunavut will a stretch of paved road which was completed for the Queen's visit in 1994.

In addition to government services, stores and banks, Rankin also hosts a craft shop, pottery studio/shop and a meat processing plant.

I work as a flight atendant for Calm Air in Manitoba & Nunavut Canada. You can only imagine how freaking cold the weather gets up there- I havnt seen the Churchill polar bears( but will include some friends photos) but got to play in "Miss Piggy" a airplane reckage from the 70's( and the pilots did survive by the way) I get to go up to these place 2 -5 times a month for a period of 2-3 days so I make the best of it as the airfare is not cheap to reach the true north. It truely is world class.
