Rancho de Leona

Rancho Leona got great reviews in Lonely Planet, and I suppose if I had planned on ending up there it might have been good. I was kind of wandering around Costa Rica at this point and ended up here, in the middle of no where. Now, again, if I were planning on staying here, it’s in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, I’m sure it would have been ok, but it’s not exactly on the main path through the country. People were very helpful at finding attractions and activities in the area. There was a list of rafting tours, different hikes, maps were available, etc. Not exactly ideal for meeting people, though, as there was only one other guest there at the same time I was. He was spending time working on his PhD thesis or something. Not a traveler. Try it out if you have time to just relax and enjoy the northern part of Costa Rica, otherwise, you might want to head elsewhere.
