This was just what I needed after 7 months hard travel and before 1 month’s grueling volunteer placement: a clean, cool oasis with good service and comfortable rooms. This hotel is busy all day, and since you have to book 2 days in advance, if you just turn up you have to take what you can get so don’t be surprised if you have to upgrade to a more expensive room than you’d intended. Chances are the cheap ones are booked out so don’t bother if you always stay at the cheapest places (unless you booked in advance via email). However, 450baht didn’t seem so bad for a comfortable single bed, air conditioning, hot shower, clean room, cable TV, security and good service at the desk. Additionally it’s in a great location; I didn’t go further than 100 metres from the door to find decent internet café, great fruit smoothies, cheap and decent roadside food and cheap clothes, though it would be great for exploring further afield too. Main advice: Get a METERED taxi anywhere (there are loads there) and don’t let yourself be railroaded into not having the meter on or they will charge you 4 x the price. 100 baht should be a good half hour drive at least in a metered taxi. (And don’t book a taxi at the hotel either or they will charge you extra, just find one out on the road, there are hundreds.)

Once I was at Bangkok I caught a taxi to the Rambuttri Village Inn and checked into a reasonably expensive room (450B). After a long day I couldn't be bothered with looking around and wanted something convenient as it's only one day till I go to Cha-am to start my volunteer placement. Feeling… Bus to Bangkok

…Daniel and Kitty (Sweden)We had to be up and out of our room by midday on Saturday, so as we could move hotels to the nicer Rambuttri Village Inn. My brother Paul had kindly offered to pay for us to stay there with him and his girlfriend Maddie, during their visit out to Thailand to see us. After checking ourselves in, we realised that the air conditioned room was far superior… Seven crazy drunks in Bangkok!
