Clean Rooms and close to food, shopping and fun! Oct 09, 2013
If you've read reviews about this hotel on Tripadvisor, you'd know just how unfriendly their staff are!

With the exception of the housekeeping staff, the front desk people didn't see a need to be friendly as long as they answered your questions. However, no negotiating on anything (change of rooms, or giving you a room with a double bed instead of two singles - which I got - and didn't bother to even dispute it with them).

The hotel is located on Soi Rambuttri, across Chakraphrong street, from Rambuttri St. It is bigger than the other guesthouses/hostels/lodges, but they do a pretty good job of keeping the rooms and bathrooms clean. Just ensure you leave a sign out for them to Make Up Room, otherwise, they will not bother cleaning or clearing out the garbage.

There is a cafe located next to the front desk, and the entire plaza which is part of the hotel has a forex changer, an ATM as well as two tailors, a 7-11 and Subway. So, if you get hungry in the middle of the night, you can still get somethin to eat. It's a five min walk to Khao San, and almost anything you need is within walking distance.

Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. But I have no plans to return to this side of Bangkok as I've stayed near Khao San on both my visits.

But for first timers or those who can't get enough of Khao San, it's an ideal place to stay, also because it's quiet at night.
Nice clean bathroom!! :D

cheap but unfriendly place to stay Sep 04, 2012
I agree with other posters who say that the service is unfriendly, although it is a good value place to stay. Location is perfect if you want to be near Koh San Road but would still like to get some sleep. We didnt hear the craziness at all but could walk to the centre of it in a couple of minutes. Lovely rooftop pool with sun loungers but bring drinks with you as its a long way down the stairs. Beware you need to give a 1000 baht deposit - not a problem if you are travelling on after you leave but annoying for us who were returning to the UK straight after leaving as we werent able to spend that money.

Cannot trust this Hotel Nov 13, 2012
The hotel itself was beautiful and has two rooftop swimming pools and is in the perfect location! The rooms are nice BUT you are provided with a 'SAFE' box in your own room for your valuables and I had my credit card stolen from my safe. and this is 100% certain as this is the ONLY time we left our valuables as we thought they where safe and it happened to my friend at the same time also in the same room and her card was in a different purse in the same safe. Staff cannot be trusted! they ask to leave keys behind reception whenever you go out so i guess they know they can go to your room and rob you from the safe!

Clean rooms. Clean pool. AC broken which was pretty brutal. But this hotel is clean, safe, and right in the middle of a fun area.

Good Value and even better location Oct 08, 2011
I stood here my first two days in bangkok and it was a good choice. It was a bit more expensive that i wanted to pay 600 Baht for a single(30 dollars) which is a bit higher than the other places around and a lot for a backpacker but it was a good value. Hotel had a nice pool and the rooms were safe and clean with AC. The best thing for me was the in room safe which made me feel safe since i had heard about some room theft near Khaosan Rd. The hotel was a three minute walk to Khaosan but far enough where the noise did not affect it. Overall I definitely recommend it.

Affordable, Clean, just what you need! Jul 26, 2011
I stayed in the Rambuttri Village in for about a week, and found the room I stayed (single standard room) to be good value for money. costed 550 Baht per night, was very clean and had what you'd expect, all rooms having air con, tv, safe, warm/cold shower. The staff aren't the most friendly, but this Hotel does the bare minimum required and worth it for the price, I would recommend it.

Great Location! Sep 16, 2011
I stayed there two times already, this January and August.. i chose Rambuttri because of its location, Khaosan Road!

Very lively streets from morning till midnight! close to everything (7-eleven, money changer, atm machine, thai massages, food stalls, coffee shops, travel agencies, clothing, etc..) never get bored of it!

The room itself : quite spacious, and clean although the bed was hard and small television, but just fine for me =)

Also, it is so easy to find a taxi, and tuk-tuk (Bangkok typical public transportation) in this area .. very crowded with tourists every day!

At last but not least, this hotel has swimming pool at the roof which just great! =)

Highly Recommended!

decent but not great Mar 16, 2011
This is a clean hotel but the staff werent very friendly and sometimes rude. It has a pool on the roof which is a great way to unwind after a long day but it closes pretty early. It does offer a logage room to store your bag while your away on a trip or waiting for a your shuttle bus to the airport so you dont have to pay for accommodations. Its right near Koh San Road. If you want an out door roof then this place is for you.

Fantasic value and great location Jan 19, 2011
We arrived at the Rambuttri Village Inn after an overnight flight from London. Soi Rambuttri area is still quite buzzing, compared to Khoa San Road. There are street vendors outside selling food and market stalls selling all kinds of goods!

The rooms are basic yet comfortable, but also very affordable! I think we paid £9 per night for twin room.

It is great value and very close to Khao San road, but far away enough to enjoy sleep when you want it!

There are two rooftop swimming pools that create a blissful setting that is peaceful and very pleasant :)

Overall, a great choice to make if you want to experience KSR and the rest of Bangkok!

Good Budget Jun 28, 2011
Nice clean cheap place to stay. Not the cheapest place around Koh San road but definitely a lot cleaner and secure than the others. 550 bah for a single room with air con and hot shower.

Nice and close to 7-11 and lots cheap street shops. If you don't like being around lots of tourists stay away from Koh San .

Rambuttri Inn Feb 26, 2011
My fave as Rambuttri is so centrally located and has two beautiful swimming pools on two different roof tops - you need the pool to cool off! Includes a/c, satellite TV with great English language channels and English movie channel too. Cost: 450 Baht/night for a single room

Rambuttri Village Inn Sep 25, 2010
Rambuttri Village Inn Bangkok, is a very nice place, close to Khaosan Road, in a real backpacker area. There are many small bars around the hotel, where it's easy to chat with other backpackers....

Its a clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice rooftop swimming pool, with a nice view..:-)

In front of the hotel is a lovely "cheap" restaurant, laundry and internet cafes...

Top security, there is a security guard at the entrance 24 hours, and you can rent safe deposit boxes at the reception...

Highly recommended hotel in BKK...

Clean Budget Room Sep 17, 2010
Considering the price you pay per night (550Bhat) for a single room with AC and ensuite bathroom, this hospitable little den located close to the famous backpackers ghetto TH Khao San is highly recommended. Having a lovely swimming pool and various shops/restaurants around the main entrance just adds bonus points. Only word of advice, ignore the many tailors which will try to "make friends" with you...unless you really need a new suit.

Address: Soi Rambuttri 95

Affordable and in the center of city Aug 30, 2010
If you're looking for a cheap and clean hotel in the city center, this is the place for sure. Just 2 minutes walking distance from Khaosan Road where all the bars and clubs are. The swimming pool at the roof is not as clean as I expected, so I didn't use it.

Just another bad experience with hotels Feb 13, 2010
The service is really bad. They gave you a cracked key card and it happened to break when it's your turn to use. They charged 50 baht for it. Very slow service. They seem not to need customers.

Nice bit of quiet in an otherwise noisy tourist area Oct 16, 2009
Ive had a great time staying here, ive had 2 rooms, first a superior single, which was clean and pleasant to stay in, the second a superior twin, which is a great room, nice and clean too....

The bonus with this place is the pool on the roof, being able to get away from the noise below is great and i spent alot of time up there relaxing.

The staff have been nice and polite and helpful when needed.

Will deffinatly use this place again

Rambuttri Inn Sep 01, 2009
We stayed in teh Rambutrti Village Inn for two nights when we first arrived in Asia. The rooms were spotless and seemed quite reasonably priced, although to be honest we didn't do much shopping around. The staff were lovely. Best of all, there was a really nice rooftop pool with nice loungers, which made a big difference with recovering from the jet lag! :)

This is a hotel rather than a backpacker hostel, so it is not the best place to go if you want to meet people to travel with. However, the strees itself is quieter and more relaxed than nearby Khao San, which is only a block away. The hotel itself didn't seem to have a restaurant but there are plenty within a few seconds walk.

I would be happy to go back if I was in the area again.
turn up the side of this temple.

God standard, cheap, and with a rooftop pool ! Dec 08, 2008
This is quite a good finding ! if you are looking for good service, or friendly staff this is not the place to stay, as the service is absolutely horrible to the extent that they are completely ignoring you. you should book in advance as it tends to be full. Especially the single rooms with fan that cost 300 baht are usually taken. The AC roms are 450 bahts. But they are worth it. Don´t get the superiour room at 580 baht, as it is exactly as the A/c room, but with a little bit of a view (bad one) Quite big, and a TV and a clean bathroom with hot shower. The rooftop swimming pool is of course the main atraction ! nice to be able to take a day of the sightseeing to just hang out in the sun.

The only complaint I have is the opening hours of the pool. From 10-18.

So no morning swim, or no chiling out by the pool with your buddies and some nice cold beers in the evening. that really anoyed me, stayed there a week, and never got to use the pool, as I was out seeing the city during the day.
Roof pool !

Rambuttri Village Inn - 2mins for Khao San Road!!! Aug 28, 2008
This is the first hotel i stay in whenever i travel to Bangkok as i know that i will definitely get a good nights sleep, a nice room, a choice of two roof top pools as well as a large wet-room bathroom and the location is AMAZING...only 2minute walk from the main backpacker area of Khao San Road but on a funkier, more hippified, cool version of Khao San Road.

Local Amenities on door step, near enough to the hustle and bustle of Khao San Road but far enough away to get a good nights sleep.

I highly recommend this hotel and they do some great online reservation offers so check there site out before arriving as you will get cheaper rooms if you book via their website.

The only down fall to this hotel is the reception staff are generally really rude. Every-time i have stayed here the same staff have been just plain rude rude rude!!!!However, the standard of the rooms and the staff who clean the rooms make up for the rudeness of the reception staff.
