Rambutri Village
Rambutri Village Reviews

From what I can tell, Rambutri Village seems to be one of the nicer places to stay in the Khao San Road area. While its not on Khao San Road, it's only about a block away from the noise and the chaos. It is set back in a quieter courtyard which has a couple of restaurants and an internet cafe. The street which it is on, soi Rambutri, also has a couple of good restaurants and of course vendors selling necessities such as freshly squeezed orange juice.
The courtyard and lobby of the guesthouse are quite nice and very conducive to meeting new people. I found it easy to pickup wifi almost anywhere in the courtyard or the restaurants, but I don't know exactly where it was coming from. The rooms of the hotel are plain, minimalist, but very clean. Our double room with aircon was 800 baht per night which is definitely not the cheapest in the area, but I can't really call it expensive either. The staff in the lobby was unexceptional, but definitely capable. The rooftop pool is definitely a highlight. While its not gigantic, its adequate in size and again, very clean and a great place to meet new people. Very often, after I thought the afternoon Bangkok sun had worn me out for the day, a quick dip in the pool turned out to be exactly what I needed to get going again. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and I will definitely return! Part of the An Epic Trip through South East Asia and China travel blog |

…traveling further than I expected, but when we arrived I was surprised to discover that I was distinctly reminded of the East Village in New York for some reason.... same same..... but definitely different. You can get anything on Khao San Rd.... from MP3s, to cheap food and drinks, to a tailored suit. Khao San Rd basically caters to backpackers and seems to be somewhat of a hub and meeting place for travelers heading out to other areas… To Khao San Road |
