Rambla Bar & Grill Copenhagen Reviews
Taste of Spain in Copenhagen Jul 14, 2014
Rambla Bar & Grill was the only restaurant still open in the close-by area on the day we arrived to Copenhagen. And since it was already late, and we had no wish travelling into centrum, we were left with no other option but to dine here.
Luckily, we both like tapas so it did not seem as such a bad idea to eat at this local restaurant. Being located within the shopping district, it looked quite high-class on the outside so we were sure that the price tag will be appropriately high. Nonetheless, we made a brave decision to walk inside. To our relief we arrived just in time to the last food orders before the closure.
The inside décor was very modern, and while it looked modest, it presented itself quite chic.
We were sat at the small dark wooden table right by the bar counter. The waiter handed us the menus in the instant and left with our drinks order – Danish beer.
The tapas choice was surprisingly varied and noteworthy – on offer was a selection of cold and warm tapas. The decision was not difficult – hungry and tired we only ordered 5 tapas from the warm selection including shrimp and lobster soup, green beans, calamari, meat balls and potatas bravas with some fresh bread and olive oil.
The dinner was delightful with real Spanish flavours prepared with a little bit of a Danish twist. I enjoyed every bit of it, especially the soup. Even though we ordered tapas, the dish sizes were reasonably big to make up for a dinner.
The one thing we were definitely spot-on was the price. The entire meal including the drinks came to over €50. A bit of a price difference comparing to Spain, but not very surprising by Denmark’s standard.
In overall, the food quality was great and the restaurant is in the walkable distance from the hostel which is a definite advantage.
So if you are in the area, unwilling to travel too far and stuck for food options, the visit to this tapas place is highly recommended.
