Ramada Plaza New Yorker Hotel Reviews

Great Location, Average Hotel Sep 10, 2006
I stayed at the New Yorker back in 2006. At the time the New Yorker, was a 3 1/2 star hotel, as long as you were placed, or requested one of their remodeled rooms. The Hotel has since been completely refurbished. The location is awesome. You’re across the street from the famous Madison Square Gardens, and 4 blocks from the Empire State Building. Central Park is about a mile north of the hotel, and Time Square is about half a mile as well. They say location is everything, what’s not with in walking distance, is easily accessible by subway. This is not the cheapest hotel, but definitely not the most expensive. The most basic level rooms are small but clean. The hotel does pride itself on its history. It was built in 1929 and was popular in the 1940's and 1950's for hosting celebrity's and dignitaries including Spencer Tracy, Joan Crawford, and Fidel Castro. If you’re on a mid-level budget (based on hotels in Midtown Manhattan which are generally expensive anyway) and location is important to you. I would recommend this hotel.
