Ramada Inn Queens New York
Ramada Inn Queens New York Reviews
Totally unprofessional incompetent staff and manager Jul 10, 2009
Travellers be aware.
The management and staff of this hotel is rude and inexperienced. I called in advance to cancel my reservation and was confirmed by the attendant. A week later I was charged for $130.00 for no show. Numerous calls to the manager resulted no response or result. The front desk people were extremely rude and inexperienced with managing service or being customer friendly. |

Don't count on it Jul 01, 2009
We recently drove to NY and arrived tired and ready to relax. We showed up at the Ramada before 6 and went to check in. We were told they had no reservation for us. I went to the car and got the reservation number. Then they found the reservation but said they'd canceled it because our credit card had been declined. I can assure you I have perfect credit and have never had a card declined. However, the
upsetting part about all this is that they never contacted me to let me know that they were canceling my reservation. The reservation was made directly through the Wyndham website, not through a third party. The Ramada Inn had my telephone number and web address. Nonetheless, they never contacted me to ask me to provide a new credit card or to help resolve the problem even though their website had already given me a confirmed reservation. We had reserved a room at the discounted AAA rate, perhaps they were able to fill it with a full rack rate customer, I'll never know. The said they had no available rooms for the night. We were forced on the spot to either find another hotel at a higher rate, or impose upon some friends who live in NY to put us up. We did the latter for one night. The Ramada said they had a room for the next night and I chose to take that rather than inconvenience our friends again (we don't see them that often and I felt it was an imposition to suddenly have to force them to find room for us). The accommodations the second night were pleasant. The room was a little small but it was very well maintained. The breakfast was perfectly OK. The hotel was fine and the staff was friendly. I might stay there again if I knew I didn't have to rely on the reservation. But if you absolutely have to be able to rely on your confirmed reservation be aware that apparently they might cancel it at any time without letting you know. |
