Igor take us for rakia at Rakia! Aug 18, 2009
My new friend Igor insisted that I had to go to a rakia bar. I had never had rakia or been to a Rakia bar so, why not.
The bar is very warm and comfy. Dark wood, light colors and colorful art.

Rakia is fruit brandy and can be made from many different fruits. The common ones are plum(slivovitz) and grapes(grozdova).Peaches apples, apricots, and figs are less common.Even more rare are additional flavors of juniper, herbs, and walnuts In Serbia a mixed fruit brandy is very common.

I chose to have slivovitz. It smells like grain alcohol but, the taste is nice. It's a lightly flavored brandy and it's very smooth going down.

The bar does also offer other drinks but, if you are interested in trying rakia, this is the best place to come. I get this information from a local. That's always the best place to get your information.

When I told him that I had not, he insisted that he take me to a rakia bar, tonight. He also asked the French / Canadian couple also staying at the hostel.  So, when Igor was finished with work, we set out into the misty / light snowy, and cold night insearch of rakia. We take the tram / trolley to the destination… Museum day....rain, rain, rain! Oh and did anyone say Rakia...Igor takes me to a Rakia, a rakia bar!
