Chillax! So laid back and easy going Nov 18, 2012
Located off the main road by about 5mins, quite area dotted with other small guest houses, and small fields with marshed lily areas. Nice and quiet and almost rural. Only just being able to hear the morning call for prayer! A great escape from the hustle & bustle of the main “tourist drag”. Littered with eateries and vehicle hire shops, minmarts and local souvenir shops. We stayed 14 nights @ 75RM a night, had traditional wooden hut over small pond. Large double bedded room Inc. Mosquito net with sitting room and kitchenette plus large walk in wet room for shower and toilet. It came with a Fridge and TV with DVD facility only. Large sitting veranda with bamboo chairs. This does NOT include breakfast. Clean bed linen and towels were provided and we had replacements given at the appropriate distance during our stay. We were able to hire a large saloon car for 70 Rm for the day, we also put in 30Rm petrol which left a little to spare on top of what we had received at the beginning of the day. A great way to get around without the pressure of a taxi waiting around for you or their prices. We also took the opportunity to stock up on low priced soft drinks for the week at the duty free.
The café area is the best place for the free Wifi if you have your own laptop/netbook, but chargeable if you don’t and use one of the three laptop terminals available (although not expensive). Drinks from the fridge in the café are more expensive than buying your own, only downside is you can’t take your own drinks into the café area whilst using Wifi. They do have a large TV with satellite channels in the café area, and breakfast is served here along with an uninspiring lunch and dinner menu of rice or noodles with seafood, chicken or veggies. We did see people on one occasion eating Fried chips, but these were not on the menu and I think you have to ask for them. We preferred the option of the five minute walk into the main road and choosing a different place everyday to eat!
We enjoyed the space and quiet of a nearly “own home” stay. They also do dorms for 18Rm and single/double rooms with fans for 45RM at the time of writing. Oh, and we also got our ferry tickets to Trang for 75RM (the going rate for nearly all but one booking agent around town).
