Radius Tours does not deliver on value. Radius purchases BOB tickets that allow 5 people to travel on a single ticket -- but only on the slowest, non-express trains. Therefore the difference between the cost of a Radius tour and the cost of doing it by yourself is far greater than most people think, particularly if you are traveling together with others. Along the way, our guide Roland (pictured) gave only the thinnest tidbits of information, mostly bad jokes about King Ludwig and his love of sausages and beer. This is basically all you get from Radius if you decide to go along with them while taking public transportation on one of their "tours".

I was NOT impressed with this tour at all. They charged us a significant price for it, but there was no real added benefit to going with them as opposed to planning the trip on our own. Travel was still by train (other companies have their own coaches) and local buses (which is never fun in big groups), and the Tour Guide did nothing much for us except lead us on the train, basically...and give a 5 minute spiel with some information about the sight. From there, the castle was pointed out to us, and we had to pay extra for another ticket into the castle, where a non-Radius tour guide took over. Definitely save your money and do Neuschwanstein on your own.
