Radisson SAS Hotel Kiev - Reviews - Kiev

I have now stayed in different SAS Radisson hotels and the quality does really differ from one to the other. The hotel in Kiev was one of the best Radisson I ever have stayed in.

Located within walking distance of the main street, Khreschatyk, the Radisson SAS Hotel in Kiev is a reflection of the city's majestic past. As an architectural monument; the hotel's facade was restored to its original splendour while the interiors were renovated to offer first class service. The hotel is 37 kilometres from Borispil International Airport.

The hotel was quiet hard to find, actually I couldn't find it and had to have taxi to guide me to there. The hotel is situated very close to the city centre in what they call the diplomatic quarter which gives good possibility to reach a lot of attractions by foot. It is only 500 meter from the ugly Golden Gate and about 1 km from the wonderful church of St. Sophia.

The hotel seems recently rebuilt and when you arrive at any time a day there is a security guard in front of the hotel. The reception is light and colourful with flowers everywhere; it is smaller than at your usual reception at this level hotel.

To the right you find the bar and behind this the restaurant where they also serve the breakfast. The breakfast was great and it was quiet long open every morning. You could get everything and especially their fruit section was good. I enjoyed an omelette every morning together with bacon. All tasted great.

The room was fresh and very clean. It had also a good size and it had a king size bed with great pillows. The bathroom was new and in a nice design. The only thing was the lack of power on the water in the shower. Every morning all the towels were folded in decorative shapes. It was nice and gave a nice feeling. Great thanks to Oxana who was the girl taking care of my room every day.

All in the staff were friendly and very service minded. There was a possibility to park the car in the garage at a cost of 20 euro per 24h. When I checked out at 4.30am Monday morning the security guard wouldn't let me out before I could document that I had paid for the parking. I wouldn't have his job and I guess that he just was looking for some action.

All in all it was a great hotel.
