Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Mysore Reviews
Outstanding hotel in a quiet area of Mysore but right beside a mall Jan 20, 2016
The Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel is the best value for money 5 star hotel in Mysore. It is located in a quiet neighborhood across the Mysore Zoo but is attached to the Mall of Mysore. It is close enough to the major attractions (e.g. Mysore Palace within 2 km), and yet situated along a quiet stretch of MG Road.
Everything about the hotel is outstanding - from the architecture, the room & amenities, the restaurants, pool, function rooms and especially the service by the hotel employees. This hotel is truly a destination in itself and one can just stay there for days as if he or she were at a resort.
The rooms are large, with a king sized bed or two twin beds. These cater easily to either business travelers, couples or families on vacation. There is a sofa for relaxation, situated near the large glass desk. The bathroom is exceptional with a cleverly designed bathtub and shower area. The toilet is separate from the bathing facilities, and one won't have problems with splashes from the shower or bath area. There is a huge walk in closet complete with an ironing board and safe. Disposable slippers are provided (blue colored in line with the hotel name). The list goes on, but bear in mind this is just a deluxe room. What more to expect when one gets a suite.
The restaurants have the widest assortment of food for the breakfast buffet, both Indian and western cuisine. The pool is near the outdoor dining area, and surprisingly there were hardly any mosquitos considering the zoo and its wooded area were nearby. The food is sumptuous, so I will just let the photos speak for themselves.
Even before you enter the place, the hotel's facade reminds you of the Mysore Palace. Inside it's equally impressive, with a huge lobby and smiling staff to greet you. While we arrived on time for checkin, our rooms were not yet available and we had to wait a bit to compensate for the wait, they offered us complementary coffee at the restaurant until it was time to move the stuff inside the room. The service levels are impressive as they have a lovely lady dedicated as Guest Relationship Manager to attend to the needs of the guests and other visitors. The restaurant staff are from all regions of India, and they speak good English and are intelligent to carry on with interesting conversations.
Truly this is the standard for which hotels in Mysore should aspire for, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone who gets to visit this magnificent city. Best highlight of my accommodations in my South India trip.
