Radisson Blu Hotel Nice is a comfortable hotel with 331 rooms right at the Promenade Des Anglais. The beach is on the other side of the street and a short bus ride takes you to the Old Town of Nice. The airport bus stops right across the street and cost €4.

I got a room with city view, which was fine since there is a lot more traffic on the sea view side. The rooms all have wireless internet access free of charge, cable TV, mini bar, safe and trouser press. The sea view rooms also have tea/coffee making facilities. The rooms come in three different styles. I don´t know which style I got, but I found it a bit dark.

The roof top terrace has a spectacular view of Nice and the Baie des Anges. On the terrace is the "Le Pool" Bar & Lounge, which serves drinks, snacks and light meals. The bar is open 10 am - midnight. There is also the Terrace Restaurant which is open for dinner from 7 pm - 10:30 pm. In the lobby there is the Lobby Bar (10 am - 7 pm) and the Bleu Citron Restaurant (7 am - 10:30 pm).

The downside is the price. A double room with city view cost €180 and with sea view €215 including breakfast buffet. What really surprised me was that you have to pay extra for the use of the sun beds, umbrellas and showers by the roof top pool. €18 for the hole day and €15 for the afternoon. The pool is open 9 am - 7 pm. A 4 star hotel should not charge extra for this!

The use of the sun beds at the private beach "La Régence" across the street is free of charge. The beach is open 9 am - 6 pm.

You also have to pay extra for the use of the fitness centre. For €12 a day you get access to a hammam, sauna, cardio training and solarium. The centre is open 6 am - 10 pm. I was not able to take a look at this since you only get access after you have paid at the reception.

I found all the reception staff, the concierge and the restaurant staff very friendly and helpful. This hotel can easily score higher if they include more of the facilities in the room rate.

Very Nice indeed Apr 10, 2007
We stayed for 3 nights at Nice. At first, we disliked the location as it was out of the town centre and a bit of a business hotel, but once we entered our Sea View Room with a great balcony, we were very pleased. The hotel is very clean and hygeni...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Overpriced and not worth your time Aug 25, 2006
Most ridiculous thing ever - you have to PAY for the lounge chairs by the pool!! 15 euros per chair. I have never had to pay for a lounge chair at a hotel I was staying at. The pool, while a great view, was NOT heated as advertised all over the...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Great overall hotel Jul 21, 2006
Great views from ocean facing rooms. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Would be ideal if location were closer to the Old Town area of Nice. About a 45-55 minute walk from Old Town Nice. Overall, a very comfortable, nice place to stay. Pool area ni...read entire review at TravelPost.com

Could not have asked for a better view! Apr 01, 2006
We went to Nice for 3 nights at the end of March to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Having not been to Nice before, we did not know where to stay or what to expect.
Our time here could not have worked out any better.
We booked a sea view...read entire review at TravelPost.com

relaxing place to stay in nice Jun 04, 2005
I liked the radissons in Nice as everything about the hotel was a luxary. The best part about this hotel is that has a roof terrace with a swimming pool. Although I didn't like paying to use the sun lounges. The hotel is located near the beach...read entire review at TravelPost.com

good value and convenient Sep 18, 2004
Because there is plenty of parking at hight on the Promenade you can avoid Euro 20 parking fee (we paid it first night only but more because were too tired). The hotel has Hertz car rental at the lobby so you can get a car right here. Gread breakf...read entire review at TravelPost.com

What A View Jul 14, 2004
This place has a great view of the Mediterranean, is fairly convenient to the center of town, and has very nice employees. The only complaint was dinner food quality was a little disappointing. For the money, head into town for a much better meal. ...read entire review at TravelPost.com
