Racine Overview

Located on the western shore of Lake Michigan, Racine is a good-sized city where you will likely find things to do when you visit, whether it's a visit to North Beach, doing water activities on the lake, a visit to the Racine zoo or to a lighthouse, or just to shop.

Wisconsin is well known for many different foods--cheese, sausage, and beer, in particular. But Racine's claim to fame in the food world is in the form of its Danish pastry known as the kringle. This pastry is a large, flat pastry in the form of an O. It is filled with just about anything that you can imagine, be it nuts or chocolate or fruit filling.

Racine is close to both Milwaukee and Chicago, making it a perfect place to visit if you are planning a trip that will include both locales.
