Rach Gia Overview
Rach Gia is one of the cities in Mekong Delta. Although it is a city, it is relatively small and quiet. Rach Gia is one of the 2 main hubs to reach Phu Quoc island from Mekong Delta. The other one is Ha Tien (2 hours with the bus away from Rach Gia).
Rach Gia has quite laidback atmosphare and doesn't have much to offer. Most tourists go there because they want to take hydrofoil or ferry to Phu Quoc island. In case you miss the hydrofoil/ferry, these are few things you can do while waiting for the next boat:
_Nguyen Trung Truc temple (Nguyen Trung Truc was a hero to the people in Kien Giang province that fought against French colony. The temple near Rach Gia boat station is the biggest temple in Mekong Delta)
_Tam Bao pagoda (a peaceful and quite nice pagoda)
_Kien Giang museum (for a bit history of the area)
_Rach Gia park.
You can also visit some coffee places in Khu Lan Bien (the area that is built out to the ocean to expand territory) for a quiet time and nice sunset.
