Rabida is well-known for its red sand beach due to the oxidation of the volcanic material from ocean breezes, rain and waves.  We first went on a half-hour panga (dinghy) ride to see blue-footed boobies resting from their dive bomb kamikaze hunting ways (many of them die after being blinded by the impact of the water and can no longer feed), golondrinos (small fast, fluttering birds that hover above water feeding off the surface), and gaviotins (black-breasted shore birds).   ...
