Great apartment in the city centre of Prague Sep 17, 2010
We were 6 guys going on our yearly weekend trip and as usually it was to the great city of Prague where you can combine fun with culture. We had the last couple of years stopped using hotel rooms when we were leaving in a group and were instead going for apartment hotels.
We had rented a 12 bed apartment just next to the Town Square and the first task was to find the hotel in these small and narrow streets. Our GPS were fighting with the traffic and all the one ways streets. After some time we found the hotel but equally identified that parking would be an issue.
At the hotel the girl who was supposed to hand over the keys were not there so two of us took the cars to the nearest parking which turned out to be some distance from the hotel. When we came back the girl arrived excusing herself for the delay but we quickly forgave her when it turned out that she was really sweet and friendly and especially after she showed us the apartment.
The apartment was on the top floor and a huge duplex. It was more than 200 square meters and it was totally cool. There were multiple rooms and in all 3 huge bathrooms, a large open kitchen and a large living room. I did get a large room with a double room with a large bathroom and a separate large toilet.
The girl asked if we were satisfied with the apartment; it turned out that it also was situated on top of a strip club and we all were given free passes for the weekend including free vodka. Some of the guys were happy that they didn’t have brought their wife’s along because none of them would have believed that it wasn’t on purpose that we had found a place of top of a dancing club.
The apartment was more than we had expected and it didn’t take long before one of my friends had gotten down and picked up some beers for the breaking the weekend.
Having the Town Square just around the corner was a super treat because it meant that all of us could find back to the apartment again without any problems.
In the morning it was wonderful to eat breakfast in the apartment because we could open the windows and enjoy the view over one of the main streets to the city centre with the entire ambiance and the sunshine heating up the apartment without the noise of the street.
We had to check out the hotel at 11 am which for us was not a problem because we had to drive back to Copenhagen. When we picked up the cars and went back to fill the cars my friend had parked for 5 minutes a handicap spot while still being in the car and a police guy saw it. Those 5 minutes ended up cost him 6o euro in parking fine. There were no flexibility from him at all; it was a hard place to both park the car and unload the cars, but the hotel was great and the location was completely perfect.
