If you're interested in quirky art you can't leave Figueres without visiting the Salvador Museum. By the way, this museum was the only reason I went to this town. I was staying in a smaller town called Pineda De Mar, a touristy place not too far away from Barcelona. Train is the best way to get there. First you take the train to Girona (a charming city well worth a stop) and then you take the train to Figueres. It's fairly cheap (5 Euros) and rather safe too. Keep your eyes open for pickpocket, though.

It's quite hot here, so bring water and dress light!

The line to get into this museum is long. Very long. So prepare yourself for some waiting. Inside you can see a lot of his early drawing and sketches. It's fascinating to see how strange everything is. They've also decorated some rooms with typical Dali furniture.. it's like being inside a comicbook or something. I don't think there's a lot to see here if you're not interested in Dali's art, though, but I think it's definitely worth a visit.

And before you head back to whereever.. make sure you'll try out the spaghetti bolognaise at the restaurant right next to the museum. It's like a little piece of heaven on a plate.
