We went up Queenstown Hill by cable car or gondola. It is the touristy thing to do here. The view was nice. The food up here was surprisingly cheap. I guess you've paid heftily for the ride up ... but that normally doesn't deter businesses which have a captive market to goug…

"When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don’t know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in." D.H.Lawrence.

We stopped at Kingston as we…

As soon as my eyes were open I hurriedly dashed out of bed like a six year old on Christmas morning and ran to the window. But on pulling back the curtains my heart sank - all I could see was a dark grey. Going to the skydiving offi…

a map and some photos of my slightly unplanned trip around the world. The map outlines the general route I took, not counting the backtracking and double visits.
Currently I am scanning some photos of this trip, but be patient, there are a lot of them!

Don’t know how they got me a rez during full-on ski season, though going from 100 degrees in El Lay to snow is a special kind of hell (Firefly shoutout). Glad I did though, cuz my room had a huge satellite hookup and I got to see Wozniacki take out Kuznetsova at the US Open. Didn’t I tell ya th…

Welcome to Queenstown. The town famous for its horrendous januari first hangover. As we walked down shotover street at 10:30 this morning we met dozens of people milling the streets in confusion. The pubs have just closed for the night and those out on the streets are either to drunk to find their …

In November 2006 I travelled to the southern hemisphere to live and work in New Zealand and Australia for twelve months. I had the opportunity to travel back across the tasman sea three times for short breaks when I was able to get time off work. It was a really good experience to live on the other side of the world for one year.
