When visiting Amsterdam give your stay an upgrade by planning your trip, if possible, around the 30th of April. This is a major annual event, everybody dressed up in Orange (close to madness!) celebrating the Queens birthday.
This is a tip from an inhabitant, enjoy your stay and believe everything you'll see!
