This is a two star hotel and doesn't deserve more. It is rather old and run down, especially the showers. On the other hand, I would recommend it to anybody who can't afford a five-start hotel. It is one of the very cheapest hotels you can get in Dubai (still expect to pay US$100/night) and is quite liveable, no worse than a two star hotel in Australia or the US. The staff are helpful and let us check in at 7:30am (allowing for a good nap after an overnight flight) and it is in a really nice location to see the traditional heart of Dubai (Deira). One problem was that taxi drivers had never heard of it, so I'd print out the instructions and map that I added as a photo.
