GREAT restaurant! I had never tried Ethiopian food before. I look forward to the next time I am able to eat Ethiopian if all Ethiopian food is as good as the food at this restaurant. The atmosphere was terrific. A great choice among MANY choices in mid Manhattan.

The "Queen of Sheba" is an Ethiopian restaurant that we visited during our short stay in New York. It has a very nice atmosphere because you are surrounded by rugs and there are no normal tables. Instead you sit on little wicker stools and have a small, low drum-like wicker table in front of you. The most fun aspect for me was that, as you would probably expect in an Ethiopian restaurant, you eat with your fingers. The food was all very good and I was even brave enough to try some raw marinated beef - it was excellent! Shame we discovered this place half-way into the trip and then didn't go back when we had the chance. I can honestly say I wish there was a similar restaurant close to where I live now.
