I headed off reluctantly from the cottage and made my way East to Montreal. The weather was terrible and the traffic was worse. My oh so trusty GPS failed me at the final hurdle by not pin pointing where my next Campsite was going to be. All was not lost, I got it to suggest a place. I now wish it hadn`t bothered.
The thing about Quebec is everything is in French, so no one can understand the road signs. This makes people really bad drivers. Added to the fact that everybody is dri...

We finally arrived at Québec City that this year has the 400th anniversary. The old town is very beautiful, full of tourists, but it seem to be in a fairy tale. We attended the beautiful changing of the guards at the Citadelle. In the evening we went on a ghost tour in the old town: fun and interesting!

We headed towards the St Lawrence River (Fleuve Saint-Laurent) and criss-crossed between the main highway and off-roads closer to the river - dependent on time and views (at one point a little too dependent on how much gas was in the tank). Another brochure and another passion, this time quaint little churches and houses in what was called according to the brochure I found "The most beautiful villages of Quebec". Can't pass up a title like that. So we drove through Kamourask...

July 20Ahhh a short day back in my hometown. I had way lot to pack and some more things to get in the markets. So I had to drive out to go to the next village to shop a bit and otherwise I was attempting to enjoy the luxury of the television and decent canadian food.Of course I spent a lot of times on the Internet too, maybe a bit late actually. I talked with Megan on the phone too, which would not be happening often in the coming months. :\So tomorrow is the big departure! How will it be, tha...

Well after yesterday’s adventures and subsequent late night, I decided to take it easy for the day and just relax before heading back to Montreal. Bene had to work at 8am and wasn’t going to be back until 1pm so I decided to sleep in until 12pm and then get all showered and stuff for when she got back. When Bene got home we decided to have lunch with her parents who had cooked crepes and ham, what a great meal! I smothered everything in brown sugar and maple syrup, I couldn’t have picke...

Greetings from lovely Quebec City! (It is north of Vermont.)
I have always wanted to go to Canada ever since I was bitten by the travel bug seven years ago. I finally made it to Canada. I arrived here on Saturday and I will leave Thursday morning. I am here attending a work-related conference and thus, I am grateful that most of my travel expenses will be reimbursed. I am staying at the famed Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac in Old Quebec City where the conference is held...

So, a rather tired pair face the day.
We were in the kitchen area having breakfast when our stalker came in. I really cant keep called her our stalker as shes actually very nice, but I dont know her name, somehow we went straight into conversation and forgot to introduce ourselves. Shes from Germany and has been travelling round Canada on her own for the past 11 months. We had a bit of a bitch session about "The Walrus" (see last entry if you dont understand) and then went our separate ways ...

It took at least seven hours to drive up to Quebec City from my home. We drove through luminous mountains and foggy skies. Driving furthur and furthur up north, I felt like we were driving off the earth. I've never been this far north of the North American Continent. The actual drive wasn't bad, my father brought his laptop so I could watch movies, etc in the car while the battery lasted. I watched Finding Nemo close to the end of the trip, therefore didn't really look up and ...

Three hostel dorms. Three wierdos. Each worse that the previous.
We start in Toronto with the woman who has been living there for about 4 months. She had a habit of starting conversations mumbling 'They'll get it you know, karma will see to it' which usually resulted in the other person looking around in a panic (we saw it done a couple of times after it happened to us). It turned out you see that someone was trying to steal her identity and had tried to kill her. Terrible luck you might th...

After my exchange in the University of New Brunswick in Saint-John, we decided with one friend to visit Québec and then New York. We were hosted by the family of my friends. No need to say that it was freezing! I met my friend and her bro in Tonroto and took the bus to Montreal and then to Sainte Foy. That night was full of despair, I never thought I could catch the bus as my fligh from Saint-John was delayed! Once I arrived in Toronto Airport, the luggage of all the flight have disappeared!...

First time to Quebec ever. Went to see what the annual winter carnival was all about. It was so cold here but i'm just happy the temperatures were slightly above average. There was no shortage of snow though as this winter was one of the snowiest on record. I took lots of pictures here. The St. Lawrence could barely be seen with all of the snow, ice, and fog around.

I'm born in Quebec city, Canada and grew up in the surrounding rural moutainous area in Lac-Sergent (Portneuf County). As I previously worked as a Land Planning Project Leader for Landscape Management, I did enjoy the chance to roam my whole native area to assess data and pictures. Why not showing it!
