Quality Inn & Suites Hermosa Beach Reviews
CHEAP, BUT GOOD Hotel in Los Angeles Jun 21, 2010
Ok first of all...
The Hermosa Quality Inn Hotel is a sort of "beach hotel" so don't expect any fancy hotel like a resort in scottsdale or a gigantic hotel in las vegas..
If you've ever stayed at a hotel in Santa Monica (Los Angeles), you know how much you had to pay for a hotel next to the shore...
Even if you stayed at the Loews in SM... which costs HELL a LOT of MONEY... you might have noticed that it's a pretty nice hotel, but nothing to be amazed about. For athe room rates of all my hotels I stayed at in Santa Monica, I would have got a HUGE SUITE in vegas...
ok.... i will come to the point.. :)
if the bay area around malibu, santa monica, venice is too expensive... CHOOSE hermosa!
the hotel is average, but all the services it offers makes it a great hotel.
+ free breakfast
+ FREE parking (self indoor parking)
+ free wifi
+ 2 internet computers & printer at the lobby
+ jakuzzi in the backyard
+ small basketball field across the street
+ starbucks a few steps away
+ 2 surf shops across the street
+ very small gym (on the 2nd floor)
+ vending machines on every floor
The hotel gives you everything you wish for...
and the staff was very friendly. They didn't leave the same impression as if you're checkin in at the ritz... or whatever... and who cares.
I was looking for an affordable hotel in los angeles. I would have paid at least 3 times more the price in santa monica than i paid at the quality inn..
The only bad thing about the hotel...is the location. Well Hermosa Beach is pretty nice as well... lots of bars and restaurants close to the beach... and it looked pretty packed when i walked by.
It takes you like 10-15 minutes walking from the hotel to the beach.
Dodgers Stadium - 40 min driving
Santa Monica - 24 min driving
Hollywood - 35 min driving
you get it! you really need a car ... but who doesn't need a car in l.a. ???
I WILL turn back to that hotel, if i stay in l.a...

“Laid Back Locale” Feb 15, 2010
This hotel was a very good place to stay in Hermosa Beach. We had four dudes there for the OSU vs. USC game, so we booked a suite, and it was top notch. Our room had two separate rooms( 3 beds and 2 couches) that were both very spacious and had large windows. The room was very clean so that was a plus. The staff was great; they accommodated us in every way and gave us no hassle. The location was within walking distance of the beach and the party scene. There was a really good breakfast burrito place on the walk towards the beach so keep your eyes peeled. LAX was only a hop skip and a jump away from this hotel and you really didn’t have to mess with that much traffic in between destinations. I felt that exploring LA from Hermosa Beach was a good route in general. Overall I would say this is great value.
Great place to stay if you really want to do LA Jul 17, 2008
We planned to travel all over LA, down the coastline, into Hollywood to do the Walk of Fame, over to Anaheim for Disneyland. We wanted somewhere that was inexpensive, safe, and had a great location for us to venture out. Quality Inn & Suites was a perfect match.
The rooms are quiet, a good size and kept clean. They provide an assortment of free breakfast goodies, including 'homemade' waffles. There's a computer to use in the main lobby and if you bring your own, internet access is easy to set up and it's free.
We never used it, but they do have a Jacuzzi.
Great hotel May 08, 2007
I stayed at this hotel for a week in May 2007 and was very pleased with it, so much so that I'm staying there again this May!
I found the staff to be very curteous and helpful, and quite happy to share their cookies :) The room was quite large, very clean and well maintained, with a large and comfy bed, private bathroom, a separate seating area and a little balcony that had a view of the ocean :)
The location is great - about a 10 minute walk from the pier, beach and a whole host of bars and restaurants. There's tons of shops and boutiques down near the beach too. There's also a little retail park just around the corner from the hotel, with a supermarket, coffee shop, ATM, and a bunch of other shops. The whole area is really chilled and a little bohemian.
The complimentary breakfast at the hotel is a self service buffet. There's not a huge amount of choice but its fresh, and all-you-can-eat (which is always good!) Fruit, yoghurt, cereals, toast, pastries, eggs, coffee and juices. There's a balcony (as well as an inside dining area) that you can sit out on to eat, with a great view over Hermosa and the ocean - but get there early if the hotel is busy, otherwise you'll be eating back in your room.
There's a gym room with all the usual bits (running machines, cross trainers, etc..) but I never used it. I preferred to be outside in the Californian sunshine!
The hotel also has free, off-road, undercover parking, reserved for hotel guests. This is great as the parking down on the ocean front is limited and a bit pricey. We just left the car at the hotel and walked down to the beach every day.
Overall, a great hotel and I would stay there again (and I am!). Definitely recommended!
