Quality Inn Rapid City

This hotel has the feel of family vacations from the 70's. The main building that has a pool and a couple of hot tubs right next to the check-in desk seems like a nice idea, but everything looks dated and cheesy. Our building was quite a hike from the main desk, and every single time we came back to the hotel, the key cards would not let us in to the room. So we would have to make the trek over to the front desk and back to the room. Not fun when you've been hiking and have a lot of stuff to carry. I guess we should have started pulling up at the main entrance and recharging our card before heading to the room. Otherwise this is very average hotel, but it is a little cheaper than others. I guess you get what you pay for. The location is good as far as being right on I-90, but not if you want to walk around downtown Rapid City. You also have to drive through town to go to any of the parks and monuments to the south.
