The Society of Friends was a religious and social movement that started in England in the seventeenth century and has spread over much of the world. To commemorate their history and achievements, a tapestry was woven between 1981 and 1996.

Over 4000 people in 15 countries worked on the tapestry. many only did a small part of one of the 77 panels - I am proud that my aunt was one of them, although I am not a Quaker myself.

We saw the tapestry when it was on tour in Manchester. It visited many cities and countries before reaching its final place at Kendal.

I'm afraid I can't find any of the photos i took but you can find many on the website, http://www.quaker-tapestry.co.uk/
