Qobustan Neolithic Petroglyphs Aug 06, 2013
Qobustan petroglyphs are some 70km away from the Baku but definitely worth visiting. Be aware that there is another Qobustan, on the totally opposite side of Baku and without neolithic remains. Second one ends in desert…

Place where people usually go is first hill where you can find a small tourist center and some guides to take you around. You don’t need to get a guide and more or less you can freely roam around this site. There are few platforms in the hill that are going around and every platform has caves where people lived and walls where they expressed their artistic urges. This hill was on the edge of the Caspian sea long time ago and it was perfect place for hunting.

There is another hill close by with more caves and images and you can go there if you get a guide to take you there. One of the best spots from Neolithic time I have seen.
