Qawra Overview

Qawra (pronounced Our ra) is located on the Qawra peninsula which is on the North East coast of Malta, the peninsula is between St Paul's Bay in the north and Salina Bay in the south. Due to its location it is fortunate enough to have three different seafronts, to the north St Paul's Bay (where the majority of boat trips depart from), to the south Salina Bay which has large salt pans in the shallow end of the bay and at the east tip of the peninsula is the open Mediterranean sea.

Qawra is approximately 15km from the capital Valetta and can be accessed with ease by using local transport - the famous yellow buses. The local bus terminal can be found in the neighbouring resort of Bugibba which is approximatley a 5-10 minute walk away from the centre of Qawra

The majority of the forshore is rocky but in many locations the rocks are flat and suitable for sunbathing.

Qawra is a growing tourist hub, which becomes more evident when compairing the number of bars and hotels to other parts of the country.

St Julians is only round the corner where most of the nightlife is.
