Pyongyang itself
Pyongyang itself Reviews
Nov 14, 2007
There are many interesting things that I could say about Pyongyang, but I am only going to write a short review. My trip to Pyongyang was the most life changing experience of my life. Seeing the Juche Tower, Kim Il Sung Square, the Mass Games at the Mayday Stadium (largest seated stadium in the world), and just simply walking in the parks are well worth everything. Pyongyang, like Hiroshima, have tragic histories indeed, and I cannot blame them for hating American imperialists, but they are very respectful of Americans that are against war and violence. The most important thing about traveling to Pyongyang is respect. When you desire to travel to a country that is commonly misunderstood, you have to try to experience it in a different mindset, and you have to see the country for beauty that it does indeed possess. This city is definately not for the ignorant people of the world, or the people that have no respect for cultural differences or different ideologies. A city like this should only be visited by those willing to have a heart and mind open enough to fully understand what Pyongyang is really about, and remember that, although it has its problems, it is what the DPRK is trying to become that is the embodiment of Pyongyang.
