Puzzles Galore May 26, 2014
This place is great for the whole family. Not sure of the exact price, I think around $20 for full entry and maybe $10 for access only to the outdoor maze.

You wonder through a bunch of rooms featuring crazy optical illusions and puzzles.

There's a wall of concave and convex faces that look like they're following you around the room. There's a room that gets smaller to one end and you can watch people appear to grow bigger as they walk toward the small end of the room. There's an outdoor wooden maze where you must try to make it to each of the raised towers in sequence. The toilets are definitely worth a look too. There are also plenty of puzzles in the foyer area to entertain you if you're buddies get stuck in the maze.

When I was there in June 2013 they were in the middle of upgrading, so should be even better now!

Fun with Puzzles Dec 20, 2012
If you like puzzles, illusions and the like then this place can offer a fun filled few hours. Just outside Wanaka Puzzle World offers a 3D maze, illusion rooms, holographic images, sculptures and a cafe with countless different puzzles to play with as well as other interactive stuff throughout the complex.

The tilted house is particularly fun where you think your going downhill when in fact your going up!

Do you need a mental challenge? Sep 08, 2008
Puzzling World in Wanaka is a really nice place for everyone, who loves tricky puzzles, optical illusions and a self-challenge in a good maze.

I’ve been to Puzzling World and absolutely enjoyed this experience! You can easily divide your visit into three parts. First of all you can check how talented and patient you are with the help of dozens of different puzzles (and you don’t even have to pay an entry for this activity). Then you can visit the illusion rooms including the Hall of Following Faces, which is unique in the entire world. But don’t get seasick! You’ll learn how easy it is to trick our human senses, though. Honestly, I’ve never felt that bad after a roller coaster ride. And then you can try to find your quick way through the wooden maze. I just say that after I had walked through the illusion rooms the maze has been a much bigger challenge because there was just a tiny sense of direction left ;-).

Don’t forget to have a look at the pretty special Roman-style toilets. They are worth a photo!

Furthermore you can buy a lot of interesting and challenging puzzles and games at the gift shop. You can find both traditional kiwi puzzles and modern games in there.
Welcome to Puzzling World
