Purple Cane Tea Restaurant Kuala Lumpur Reviews
For the health conscious Dec 02, 2011
I've dined here 2-3 times, mainly for lunch with colleagues, but this time, for dinner with family members.
Purple Cane turned out to be our last minute convenient choice when we decided to change dinner venue from a pretty expensive and noisy Chinese restaurant after seeing a queue outside waiting to be ushered in. Both are located side by side and so I suggested Purple Cane to my family member who had earlier picked the noisy Chinese restaurant. The environment of Purple Cane is quieter and the lights are slightly dimmed. The furniture design represents the old fashioned Chinese style in that wooden tables and stools are used instead of the more modern furnitures.
As its name suggest, "tea" is used in most of its recipes. Even the rice is tea infused. The food is cooked with less salt and I have a feeling that no MSG is used at all. A good wide variety of healthy food seem to dominate the menu and the presentation of food looks exactly the same as how it's shown in picture, and the taste is as good as how the picture represents it.
There is an option of big or small for all the dishes and they mostly don't cost more than MYR20 each. As for beverage, there's a wide selection of tea or modified tea flavoured drink to choose from. Each one cost less than MYR10.
Service is pretty fast. Many Caucasians like to dine here.
And if I have not mentioned this, the restaurant is certified Halal.
