Purity Diner New York Reviews
Purity Diner Jul 14, 2009
The neighborhood, Park Slope has a lot going on during the day, though at night on this stretch of 7th ave. the area is a bit quiet. As Purity Diner is across the street from Methodist Hospital, you might run into health care workers at night, and families and yuppies in the daytime.
This diner has a decor more in keeping with a nicer, slightly more upscale eatery than typical greasy spoon late night diner decor (I adore either style).
The help is very helpful, ready to pull together multiple tables to improvise for larger groups, or offer recommendations. Though really what jerk needs a recommendation for a diner? :).
Their portions are huge and are very tasty reliable diner fare. I like their gyros, the meat was very tender and flavorful. Their fries are crisp, the salads are filling, good dressings, etc.
Another plus they seem to be open late, I was there round 11PM on a Sat. night after a free concert in nearby Prospect Park, which is yet another thing going for this place.
Prices are average for the area, like $8-15 for a meal, or $4-10 for an appetizer.
