Pure Cafe Travel Reviews

Jan 15, 2007
If organic, all natural, vegan, macrobiotic, and healthy are appealing
words to you, and you happen to be in the Aoyama/Harajuku area in
Tokyo, you should definitely stop by Pure Cafe for lunch or a cup of
organic coffee.  The ambience is bright, clean, and modern.  They are
very earth friendly, never wasting products and politely requesting
customers to bring in their own containers for take-away orders.  For
lunch, you can choose from the seasonal sandwich set, grains set, or
salad set, which includes a mini salad or soup and drink for about 1300
yen.  They offer organic tea, coffee, Chinese medicinal tea, and fresh
juices.  Everything is 100% vegan, meaning everything is free of animal
products, and macrobiotic, meaning they don't use sugar, milk, eggs, or
meat.  So what else is there to eat?!!  You'd be surprised.  You would
never believe that food could be so tasty, interesting, and good for
you, too.  My favorite snack is the fresh scone with brown-rice-malt
sweetened tofu cream (700 yen).  Their desserts are irrestible, too.  I
love this place so much, I take away their lunch for the plane ride
back to Los Angeles!!

koticphreak says: Great little restaurant I found in Harajuku along the narrow but very popular and overcrowded walkway that dead-ends directly into the subway station. Wish I remembered better exactly where it was, but it was really good, had great pizzas and desserts, great atmosphere, great service!
Martyn102 says: "Namahage" means "young men disguised as ogres" in English. (I'm not sure if it's correct, but my dictionary says it is.) The ogre comes from Akita, far north Japan. You can try their traditional food here. And, 19:45 & 22:30 every nights are Namahage show time! You should be there. It's fun. I l...
