Punta Villa Resort Reviews
Punta Villa Resort Dec 01, 2009
The place was huge and old, it was not the place I expected it to be – the pictures in the website were an exaggeration. Or maybe they were taken years earlier? The designs of the building were elegant and offering a feeling of the past. You can even dine with glittering candelabras as company.
Place is secured with guards on the premises and true to its name, the resort had many swimming pools. I wished there was a beach near somewhere tho but there’s none, only a pond.
The deluxe rooms we had (1, 500 pesos for 2 persons or $17 per person) were old, too bad we were housed in the old building; the newer one would have better rooms and greater price. At least, the rooms have hot and cold shower, phone, cable TV and ref (in the bigger rooms).
For those traveling to Iloilo City for the first time, I will not recommend the place since it’s too far from the city proper and the must-see sights. You need to take a taxi for 100 pesos to go to the nearest Mall and convenience stores.
On weekends, the place gets too crowded and the staff can’t promptly attend to the needs of the guests.
All in all, Punta Villa is for bigger groups since they have special packages and the resort has many conference and board rooms.
