Punta Sur Eco Park Reviews
Hoaky but great beaches Jan 05, 2009
In conjunction with Carnival Cruise-lines, took a trip with Sunshine Tours in mini-jeeps (ATV's) down to the eco-park in Punta Sur, Cozumel. The guides (Alvaro and Francisco) were energetic, fun and informative, but the sights were mediocre. The "Maya ruin" was an old temple/lighthouse that was interesting, but took ten minutes to explain and see since it was fenced off (and 5 feet tall). Looking at the crocodiles was pretty awesome since they actually are in a wild habitat. The beach area was great! Wonderful sand and about 4 miles of pristine beach. My friends snorkeled for about a mile while I ran along the water. We only stayed at the beach for an hour. The last stop was a lighthouse where you could see just how small and flat Cozumel is. Great view of the water and beaches, though. Overall, mediocre experience with some highlights.
