Pune, the second largest city of Maharashtra state, is considered the cultural capital of Maharashtra. It is an old city with a population of over five million poeple. Today it is a bustling cosmopolitan, and a seat of education with its many large colleges and universities. It is a hub for a lot of IT/Technology companies, and a major training base for the Indian Army. Pune is famous for the Osho International Meditation Resort. It has several museums that portray the history of the ruler Shivaji's empire. Literature of Pune is famous throughout Maharashtra.
